TwinSpin

STC builds many different unique pieces of equipment for both the
waste industry as well as for virgin products. One of our newest
products is the Twin Spin. It contains several patents and patent
pending features, one of which is its swivel design. This unit is
designed to blend railcars, tank trucks, roll-off boxes, stationary
tanks, settlement basin tanks, ISO containers, etc... There are two
different models of this design they vary, however, only in length
of reach between the propellers and horsepower.

What makes the system unique is it's ability to pump an enormous amount of liquid
towards the ends of a vessel, and still fit through a 20-inch manhole. This is
done through our new, patent pending, swivel design. Instead of lowering a
propeller into a tank that folds out the Twin Spin rotates 90 degrees and
positions itself parallel to the tank floor. The blades are then located 3
inches from the floor. This is controlled by a skid on the bottom of the
mixer that rests on the vessel's floor. In some applications where the vessel
has an enormous heel; the unit is first operated in the vertical position
which easily clears a space on the floor for the unit to unfold.

The unit's ability to apply 100HP simultaneously to each of its two propellers
enables it to pump 23,000 gallons per prop per minute. That is 46,000 gallons
per minute or the equivalent of rolling a tank car every 30 seconds. This
combination of high torque and high flow brings a tremendous amount of thrust
at the vessel's end near floor level. This causes the solids to be undermined
and thrust into the liquid flow pattern developed by the mixer, where they then
return to the center of the tank to the suction side of the propeller. There, they
are chopped and thrust out again and again, a homogenous blend is reached and
ready to be off loaded. The system is capable of blending sludges up to 60% solids
and viscosities to 10,000 centipoise. The unit is designed to be operated prior
to and during off loading. It is available as a self-contained system,
which includes a 10,000 -lb expandable boom forklift, or it can be permanently
installed on an overhead track. The equipment is currently being offered as a
turnkey service where the unit is needed daily, or as an equipment lease package,
where the usage is more sporadic. For more information, contact STC at 1-800-479-7496.
