RipTide
Slurry Cars: The RipTide agitation system for rail
cars is one of the most versitile agitation systems
available from Sumter Transport. In as little as 15
minutes agitation time, the RipTide agitator can
easily resuspend heavy amounts of solids into solution
or suspension. With RipTide system the car empties
clean and residue free the first time every time.
Dry to Wet: Our most recent agitation system will provide the
ultimate in freight savings. The dry to wet pressure differential
car is designed to transport dry material at maximum weight
allowed and then add liquid at your customer's destination.
This means you no longer pay to transport liquid that can
be added at the destination.
Fact Sheet
After two years of engineering and testing,
the RipTide agitation system has received
approval from the Association of American Railroads (AAR).
For the first time, products that were traditionally
limited to trucks can now be transported by rail.
The RipTide agitation system can be used for
virgin as well as waste products, such as waste blended fuels,
clay slurries, calcium carbonate slurries, fertilizers, liquors, or even orange pulp.
Torque and horsepower requirements for the RipTide system
can be custom designed to fit your particular application.
In many cases the RipTide agitation system has
direct mounted blades, so there are no wear items such as bearings, shafts, or sleeves.
The Maitland Company owns several agitation system patents
and has multiple agitation system patents pending.
